Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026  |  Effective date: May 2026

ConvertPDF is built on a single principle: your files are yours. This Privacy Policy explains precisely what data we collect (almost none), what we do with it (very little), and why you can verify every claim we make using your browser's own developer tools.

1. Who We Are

ConvertPDF is a free, browser-based document utility available at convertpdf.pages.dev. The service is operated independently. For any privacy enquiries, contact us at convertpdf.contact@gmail.com.

2. The Core Privacy Guarantee — Your Files Never Leave Your Device

Every PDF, image, Word document, or other file you open in ConvertPDF is processed entirely within your web browser using client-side JavaScript. No file content, file name, or file metadata is ever transmitted to our servers or to any third party.

You can verify this yourself: open your browser's Developer Tools (press F12), click the Network tab, then use any of our tools. You will see network requests for static assets (our scripts and stylesheets) but zero requests carrying your file data — because none are made.

3. What Data We Collect

3.1 Information We Do NOT Collect

  • File content, names, or metadata from any document you process.
  • Your name, email address, or any other personal identifier.
  • IP addresses logged beyond what your hosting provider retains for infrastructure security (see §3.2).
  • Behavioral tracking data, browsing history, or cross-site tracking of any kind.
  • Analytics events, conversion data, or usage telemetry.

3.2 Hosting Infrastructure

ConvertPDF is hosted on a standard web hosting provider. Like all web hosts, the provider may retain standard server access logs (IP address, URL requested, HTTP status code, timestamp) for a limited period as part of normal infrastructure operation and security monitoring. This is standard practice for any website you visit and is beyond our control. No document content is included in these logs.

3.3 Contact Form / Email

If you contact us via email at convertpdf.contact@gmail.com, we will receive and read your message. We will use the information only to respond to your enquiry. We do not add you to any mailing list, share your details with third parties, or retain your message beyond what is necessary to resolve your query.

4. Cookies and Local Storage

ConvertPDF does not set any tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or analytics cookies.

Some tools may use your browser's localStorage to save your preferences (for example, your last-used settings within a tool). This data is stored entirely on your own device, is never transmitted to us, and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings. It is not used for tracking or profiling.

5. Third-Party Services

ConvertPDF uses the following third-party services to deliver the website itself:

  • Google Fonts — used to load the Inter typeface. Your browser makes a request to Google's font servers when you first load the site. Google may log this request per its own privacy policy. To avoid this, you may block fonts.googleapis.com in your browser; the site will fall back to system fonts.
  • jsDelivr / cdnjs — used to load open-source JavaScript libraries (e.g., PDF.js, pdf-lib). These CDNs may log requests per their own policies.

We do not use Google Analytics, Google AdSense, Facebook Pixel, or any other advertising or behavioural analytics platform. No third-party tracking scripts are present on this site.

6. Children's Privacy

ConvertPDF does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). Because we collect no personal data at all, there is no mechanism by which a child's data could be stored by our service. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us (for example via a contact email), please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

7. Data Security

Because we do not receive or store your file data, there is no centralised database of your documents that could be breached. The security of your documents is inherently guaranteed by the client-side architecture: data that is never sent cannot be intercepted, leaked, or accessed without authorisation.

For communications (e.g., emails you send us), we use standard industry-appropriate security measures commensurate with the sensitivity of the information.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights under applicable privacy law (such as GDPR in the UK/EU, CCPA in California, or similar legislation). Because ConvertPDF does not collect or store personal data about our users, most of these rights (access, rectification, erasure, portability) are automatically satisfied — there is simply no data to provide, correct, or delete.

If you have contacted us by email and wish to have your email correspondence deleted, please write to convertpdf.contact@gmail.com and we will action your request promptly.

9. International Users

ConvertPDF is accessible worldwide. Because we do not transfer your personal data internationally (we do not collect it), cross-border data transfer restrictions do not apply to your use of our tools. If you contact us by email, your email will be processed using standard commercial email services.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. We will never introduce tracking, advertising, or data collection without making it clearly visible on this page and providing you with a choice.
